Business Challenge: An aging mainframe legacy system, manual processes and ad hoc database development, hindered the firm's ability to develop new business and scale the infrastructure to meet business growth needs

Solution: GoldenSource Securities & Products and GoldenSource Customers will enable them to centralize all European data, including client and securities reference data on a multi-lingual, multi-currency platform. In particular, Securities & Products will provide the bank with a common data architecture and data language facilitating improved account handling, the flexibility to quickly introduce new product lines and the ability to transition from legacy systems. The investment bank will benefit from increased agility by reducing system constraints and improving the quality and accessibility of enterprise-wide data. The consistent flow of high-quality centralized data will facilitate an improvement in the investment bank's operational efficiencies by reducing exceptions-related issues associated with reference data.

Benefits: The GoldenSource Enterprise Data Management solution is the first of a two-phased approach to achieving an increase in operational efficiency and a reduction in transaction costs while facilitating STP. GoldenSource Securities & Products establishes an operational environment that is capable of reacting effectively to fluctuating/increasing volumes. In addition, the speed of addition of new products, clients and trading capabilities is improved.

GoldenSource's integrated solutions also gives a migration path to phase two of the project which is a data warehouse containing all trade, position and P&L data that can be used to support Risk, Regulatory and Management reporting.
