Products Purchased: GoldenSource Datamodel and GoldenSource Securities & Products Key Stakeholder: The Bank has a centralized data technology group which supports Front to Back Equities, Corporate Finance, Treasury Products, Human Resources IT, Client Managements, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Sales and Marketing across the enterprise. Business Challenge: Develop an "Integrated Data Infrastructure" (IDI). The goal of the Bank is to provide high quality data in a standard format, using standard interfaces, while reducing support and infrastructure costs, with a focus on re-usability and consistency. Solution: The GoldenSource solution extracts instrument data from multiple vendor data feeds with a robust exception management process to allow users to investigate and resolve exceptions. The securities hub consolidates data from multiple feeds to provide consistent reference data from preferred, validated sources as part of a best of breed "golden copy" of securities reference data. It stores a wide range of financial instruments in a flexible, scalable model, modeling relationships between related instruments and organizational data; and provides on-line facilities for manual data maintenance, auditing, reporting and automated data maintenance and workflow components to assist users in resolving conflicting data. The securities hub interfaces with Common Message Format API, publishing data additions and changes to users or subscribing applications, and responding to users' data requests for an instrument or a range of instruments. Benefits: The newly developed Data Management Program has improved the quality, timeliness and controls surrounding reference data while delivering a sustainable reduction in data related costs. The GoldenSource Securities & Products hub has delivered on the key goals of putting in place standard formats and interfaces. GoldenSource's data vendor "Connections" are fully supported by GoldenSource, which has eliminated the need for the Bank's internal interface support of data vendor feeds and delivered on the required consistency and re-usability of these Connections.
