As a follow-up to my last post about LSEG DSP, we have been asked to share some insights on other data providers’ platforms as well. This week, I thought I’d cover ICE APEX as our next topic.
ICE has numerous data products that have been built in-house or have been acquired over time (also under the previous brand IDC – Interactive Data).
Most of them are specialized based on the asset classes they cover or the regions they serve. Examples include the North-America-focused data products SIRS, IDSI, VADS, ABSG, or IDS (f/k/a FTS, originating from the former XShare and XBond) primarily for the EMEA and APAC market. Of course, there is overlap amongst these products, too.
While supporting certain other ICE feeds, GoldenSource is putting most of our focus on ICE’s strategic data platform called APEX. Since the launch of APEX several years back, a critical level of content has been brought onto the platform.
GoldenSource’s clients use APEX across asset classes at varying depths. They leverage APEX’ mechanisms to deliver full-bulk datasets on a daily basis, to schedule deliveries for one or multiple-managed portfolios, and to perform intra-day ad hoc requests.
The common data dictionary for these use cases makes APEX a suitable platform for our customers subscribing to ICE content, typically in XML or JSON format.
Our clients also use a couple of other highly specialized ICE products due to their unique content. One example is eMBS for US Mortgage Pools, which ICE acquired in 2023 as part of the Black Knight deal.
For most other ICE feed usages, GoldenSource is working closely with ICE and our clients, striving to unify data onboarding via the standard delivery mechanisms of the APEX platform.
